The 2024 Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport: A Leap in Design, Performance and Technology
July 11 2023,
Mazda Canada Inc. unveils the 2024 Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport, marking an exciting chapter in its model lineup. These compact cars stand out with their engaging driving dynamics and sophisticated design. Mazda3 Sport models will hit dealerships this summer, followed by Mazda3 models in the fall. Owners will enjoy an array of choices with seven unique packages for the Mazda3 sedan and nine for the Mazda3 Sport hatchback, featuring standard front-wheel drive and available i-Activ all-wheel drive in select models.
The 2024 Mazda3 sees a notable upgrade in standard performance with a new Skyactiv-G 2.5L engine, replacing the previous 2.0L version. This offers 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque on both regular 87 octane or premium 93 octane fuel. The updated engine results in a 44 horsepower increase and improved fuel efficiency. Coupled with cylinder-deactivation technology, this results in an impressive NRCan rated efficiency of 7.5 L/100km overall.
Both the Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport GX models are equipped with the new 2.5L engine, paired with a smooth-shifting Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode, front-wheel drive, and G-Vectoring Control Plus. Inside, the 8.8-inch centre display comes standard with the latest Mazda Connect infotainment system.
Moving to the GS models, you'll experience the full standard suite of i-Activsense safety equipment. Comfort is also elevated with luxurious leather-wrapped accents and dual-zone automatic climate controls. GS models now feature a Skyactiv-G 2.5L engine on FWD trims. For further enhancements, the GS Luxury Package features a larger 10.25-inch infotainment display that adds touchscreen functionality with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
GT models, both Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport, take luxury a step further with features such as a Bose 12-speaker premium audio system, full-colour windshield-projected Active Driving Display, and a wireless charging system. GT models also offer enhanced safety measures and convenience features like Traffic Jam Assist and 360° View Monitor.
For the manual gear shifting enthusiasts, Mazda3 Sport GT provides a Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual transmission, enabling a more hands-on driving experience. Turbocharged Mazda3 continues to be a crowd-pleaser, providing 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium 93 octane fuel. With regular 87 octane fuel, the turbo engine offers 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
The 2024 Mazda3 lineup introduces the Mazda3 Sport Suna Edition with striking Zircon Sand Metallic exterior and 18-inch black metallic finish wheels. The unique exterior is matched with a black interior, completed with exclusive Black/Terracotta, and exquisite Terracotta stitching.
